Let me share a story<\/strong>. It starts in 2010, when a friend from an AI startup introduced me<\/a> to the concept of singularity<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A couple of years later, in 2014, I covered the topic \u2013 AI alignment and what if AI becomes uncontrollably smart \u2013 in Kuukausiliite<\/em><\/a> (a respected long-form journalism outlet in Finland).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OpenAI did not yet exist. Sam Altman<\/strong> was a person I thought highly of because of his startup blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Wolt<\/a> happened. My friends and I saw the physical world turn digital and founded a local commerce platform. It took off and became my next step in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016, I was in charge of launching Wolt in Stockholm.<\/strong> In a tech seminar I publicly asked Eric Schmidt<\/strong>, then-executive chairman of Alphabet, what he thought of the premise of AI taking over, the idea that Elon Musk<\/strong> and Stephen Hawking<\/strong> were popularising. Schmidt brushed me off<\/a> as he felt Musk and Hawking did not know what they were talking about<\/a>. He argued we could always switch off the computers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found the take surprising but also had my hands full. Wolt had just raised \u20ac10M, which soon became hundreds of millions. I was busy scaling our business to follow the breakthroughs in 2017\u20132021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, in 2022, two things happened. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, Wolt was acquired by DoorDash<\/a> for $8B in the largest acquisition deal in Finnish history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few months after that, OpenAI started the mainstream LLM revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything we had learned in 100,000 years \u2013 on math and medicine, memes and political science \u2013 could now be put into use by anyone. This was thanks to a bunch of neural network layers and smart matrix calculations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How far could we get if we kept feeding the machine and gave it access to tools?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cut to Spring, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re not only dealing with world models, BCI, OpenClaw, embodied AI and chat buddies that possess the collective knowledge of the planet. We’re literally discussing if the viable long-term way forward for humans is to deeply integrate with AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re deploying thousands of agents to accelerate AI research itself and seem to be approaching an even more profound intelligence explosion. (Eric Schmidt also takes<\/a> this seriously<\/a> and has become one of the most fascinating voices on the topic.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been diving into AI for more than three and a half years now. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing gets me as energised as this. So I\u2019ve decided to dedicate the next phase of my life to helping people see clearly what is unfolding and why it’s important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With ten years building a tech company, a science degree and a career in journalism, I want to help us take the right turns with AI. I don’t take fees for my advisory work, which lets me say what I think and do what is right<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a first step since late 2025, I’ve met with 70+ decision-makers<\/a>, AI researchers and builders from different fields in the Nordics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve also started coaching Silicon Valley startups and will spend more time in the Valley over the coming months.<\/strong> I aim to become a useful bridge between SV and Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m also becoming an independent AI columnist with Helsingin Sanomat in June 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re at the start of something that will change what it means to be human. I expect to keep refining my focus as this unfolds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
